I Quit Using Cannabis

If you're feeling better AFTER you quit, that's a good sign. I'm sure if I were going through chemo and I wanted to try it to fight off the nausea, I might. But just as people have the right to use it if it helps, others have the right to say "no".

Many drugs are that way. They help some but with others, they are of little help at all. If all our bodies were clones of one another then the study of medicine would not be so very complicated, would it?

I agree. It’s a good sign. I feel like a new person.

My mother in law has had chemo therapy for breast cancer and never used it but now she has a multitude of old age related diseases and her doctor has directed her to see a doctor who prescribes cannabis and she’s going. I haven’t spoken to her about it but her family has and they are ALL for it. I hope it works for her. She’s really in a lot of pain.

I agree. We are all different. At one point in time, cannabis worked for me and I had no problems using it. Now my body has changed and using it no longer has the same effect. I’m glad that I’m aware enough to realize this.

I do find it a bit humorous that my mother in law is going to be starting cannabis while I’m quitting. Oddly enough, she was venomously against it. Hopefully it will work for her

A polygraph? What were you applying for?
I worked for a Brewery and all potential employees were required to take a polygraph. I passed no problem. In fact, I worked there for a couple of years. Then I had to give notice as a better offer came in from another company. A few months later the new job was not what I wanted, so I went back to the brewery. And I had to take the polygraph again...! It was no big deal, just a pain. They did ask about taking drugs...

Some professions are very strict. The company my husband worked for was the same way. He had 4 interviews before getting the job he had and they checked for cannabis use. He never used. He’s squeaky clean.

Years ago there was a huge brewery off highway 400 in Ontario. It was one of the biggest breweries in Canada. They were very strict. Years later it was discovered that there was a huge grow op within the brewery. It was one of the biggest cannabis busts in the country.

12 arrested in former Molson brewery grow-op bust

Horrid NIGHTMAREs. A very bad side effective from quitting is horrific nightmares. Last night our cams went off 3 or 4 times, waking me up.Its just Deer . No biggie but when I fell back to sleep I had horrible nightmares. When I was using I never remembered any of my dreams.

It’s been 37 days since I quit using and according to my husband my mind is starting to really work better. I think the biggest change was that I was now on proper medication for my mental disorders and they weren’t interacting well at all.

Before I wasn’t on any medication which wasn’t good considering my serious disorders and weed just wasn’t working effectively any more. Mixing the two was not working but it took me a while to catch on. The drugs I’m on could probably knock out a grizzly bear. It’s pretty potent stuff.

I’m really glad I quit and my husband often says how proud he is of me. I can think so much better and the dementia type symptoms are really clearing up. My memory has gotten a lot better. It feels good being able to count on my memory. Very rarely do I miss it. Even though I didn’t smoke it, it still affected my sinuses a lot. Now they are starting to clear up. I think my body was starting to reject it. I’d constantly sneeze while using and now I don’t.

Thanks for the support in quitting. I really feel like a new person. Being sober has certainly changed my life. Now my husband and I are both completely sober only he has about 30 years on me.

Now that weed is legal in many states they are starting to do studies. It never made sense to me that it could alter your mind yet have no bad effects. Studies are showing cardiac issues, anxiety, etc.
It's only mind altering temporarily. I like that about it. I haven't had any weed in about 7 years or more. They are going to start selling it here in Ohio soon. I may buy some once in awhile. I never got addicted to it. I couldn't smoke it because of lung problems from cigarettes. I will see whatever forms it comes in.

Thanks you two. It wasn’t hard to quit. I just didn’t want do it any more. It was affecting my memory too badly . I’m glad to be able to think better.
I'm glad now that you're sober you can recognize how regular use was having a negative affect on you, many will never admit that. In my experience weed has a cumulative affect, the longer you use it the more impaired you become.

Using it was making me excessively paranoid and I’ve got an illness that makes me paranoid enough. Once I stopped using it my paranoia wasn’t nearly as bad.

My son has recently come back from Thailand after spending 2 weeks there with friends celebrating a couple's 50th birthday. He sent back some photos of all the Weed shops . He got quite a shock seeing it growing in large pot plants outside people's homes and one photo was of a little cat sitting amongst the marijuana and eating it. I said it looked like a 'happy cat.'
In Morocco I once walked into what I thought was something it was not. More than a dozen folks were smoking dope, including a couple of uniformed cops. Of course that was about fifty years ago, so I wouldn’t know what goes on today.

I am seriously looking into CBD gummies since my doctor has ignored my requests for pain medication.

CBD gummies have never helped me. I'd like to try the real deal gummies or some form other than smoking (hate the smell) of the strains @Paco Dennis mentioned above. I've got a Norco prescription now for autoimmune/fibromyalgia pain but they really don't help. I used to not even get them filled every month but do now that the FDA limits production.

I did try a 'real deal' gummy a couple of years ago but have no idea what strain it was. It didn't help the pain and the only effects were that colors and sounds seemed a bit off.

Order regular cannabis gummies. The THC is great for reducing pain. Just make sure you get an Indica strain not sativa. Just don’t plan on driving or using any machinery after taking.

The gummies, capsules, that type of "edible" is not listed as Indica or Sativa but usually by the percentage of THC.

@Alizerine CBD does nothing for real pain. Like advised by Patty & Annie, go for THC, but start on low dosage, if there is a choice.
