My daughter and her husband went to court today.
They have been raising their granddaughter on and off, she calls mom and dad, since she was 6 weeks old. Sometimes her mother was there, sometimes she would take off. But she never mothered her baby. The father was always non involved.
Three months ago my daughters adopted daughter moved out and only saw her baby once. Then a couple of weeks ago she left the state, moving to another state without seeing her baby daughter or giving any information to her parents as to her whereabouts.
The baby has always been in custody limbo. But, DCFS placed the baby with my daughter a few months ago. (Her mother had taken off with her for a few months.). DCFS did not take custody of the baby, nor did they give legal custody to my daughter. So baby limbo.
That all ended today when my beautiful 2 1/2 year old great granddaughter became the “legal” daughter of her grandparents. YAY. Sometimes prayers are not only answered, but you receive the answer you want. Just had to share the happy news after such a crappy year.

everyone is celebrating at yours today then...thank the Lord. Just out of interest how old is your daughter, the baby's grandma
, 46 and she adopted both her daughters when they were 15. She never wanted a baby and because of their ages, they were reluctant to adopt her. My daughter thought she would not live live through the baby’s first 24/7 6 months. But I assured her she would.
and so relieved. My great granddaughter had an awful start in life and then when her mother took off with the guy with her baby it was even more horrific and baby fell even more behind. Now granddaughter has taken off with yet another man. She has met all these men on the Internet. Such a stupid 24 year old child.
