I thought I had a buyer for my houseplants

My houseplants got out of hand over the summer. I have more now than I can comfortably fit in the house. I posted the ones I wanted to sell on Marketplace and got a nibble on Monday. She said she was very interested but couldn't pick them up until Saturday. I replied that Saturday was fine, but to specify a time and I would post the address. A few days went by an I didn't receive a response, so I PMed her and asked if she was still interested. She answered, "Yes, very much." So I repeated to state what time on Saturday. I got an almost immediate reply, "Forget it."

Why won't people commit to a specific time? I'm not going to wait home all day hoping she'll show up.

I think people who are really interested would commit to a time, might be similar to the old saying about if you want something done, ask a busy person to do it - some people have much better time management skills than others.

Since you have gotten....free things..food, etc..
might It.. be a nice gesture to give the senior center a plant.?
(Unless you really need the money)

What would they do with a plant? The give away table is piled up with things nobody is taking. There's a nice ceramic canister set still in the box that's been there now for a few weeks. Besides, they may not want things with dirt brought in.

The same thing everyone does with houseplants: enjoy them.

@Jace is onto something here. It would be a lovely gesture to put the plants in some nice pots and give them to your senior center as a thank you for their services and a day brightener for their volunteers and clients. đź’•
