I took a chance on a new variety of Coleus this year and I'm pleased.

My one impulse buy this year was a single potted Coleus plant. I generally buy them in a 6 or 8 pack and certainly some of them had more vivid colors. Something drew me to this one.
I wasn't disappointed. Usually I have to cut them back several time during the season because they want to go to seed.
This one has yet to go to seed and has stayed nice and bushy. just the one plant filled a huge planter. From a distance it looks like an azalea. I wish I could plant them in the front of my house but the deer would love that. This one is behind fencing.
Now I'm thinking of bringing it in when the time is right.. Online they say it is easy to start from cuttings.
Has anyone tried it? Coleus.JPG

Coleus is easy to start from cuttings. I put the cuttings in a clear container of water, put them on a window sill and let them alone while they form roots. Just remove all leaves from the stem except for a few at the top.
