This morning I picked up thyroid medicine from our vet for one of our dogs. We have 2 dogs and 5 cats. I want to bring a Golden Retriever into our family menagerie, so far my has not my desire for an additional canine, at least not until present dog population decreases. I see her point but with that in mind it did not stop me from requesting my vet if she happens to run across a Golden Retriever I would be interested. Including an older dog.

Goldens are a lovely breed of dog. Gentle and smart. Wish I could have another dog (no-pets building). We're so pathetic, when we're out, we're constantly dog-spotting and get very excited .. especially when we see labrador retrievers.

All the best in your search for your Golden retriever.

I don't blame you for wanting a Golden, they are beautiful and very sweet and friendly dogs. I can see your wife's point though, if you take the dogs for walks often, it would be a little bit harder to have three with you as opposed to two. I love animals, have a dog and cat myself, but three dogs and five cats would be a full house. I imagine your wife also has a big part in caring for them all every day, can be a big job for folks our age.

Our last family dog was a golden retriever,Ty we had her for 13yrs-what a love!
She was quirky she loved to chase her tail with a tennis ball in her mouth
One time she was lying by the fireplace in our living room,we forgot to put the screen on,she got up to leave not realizing the tip of her tail was on fire, what an awful smell. She couldn't figure out why everybody was looking at her tail
My brother and his family always had golden retrievers, they recently had to put down 'Buster' who was 14.The 1st time I met him he was a couple months old, forgot he had sharp teeth/paws. Over the yrs when I would come for visits,he knew it was me.He got so excited, tail wagging would bring a sock or a sneaker to me LOL!

I've always loved Golden Retrievers......always wanted one too, but they are very active and no way could I take care of one. I so miss having a dog.
