I Want To Hear More Good News Instead Of Bad

There is proof from many reliable sources that fact checkers
like Snopes are often not factually correct and misleading.
It surprises me that readers blindly put their faith in "fact-checkers".
You're right that Snopes and other fact checking outlets have very specific and more stringent criteria for labeling something 'true', than saying partially true or.false. Snopes for example needs either recording or more than one person claiming to have heard someone make a statement.

Their standards such that i trust them more when they say its true then if they say questionable or false.

Snopes is a widely respected source of getting the truth about pretty much anything. If they are proven wrong, they change their article to conform with the latest findings.

Which is the way science and scholarship are supposed to work. I have personally never seen anything incorrect (especially deliberately incorrect!) in a Snopes article. Haven't used them a lot recently, but unless they've radically changed, that's the way it's always been.

Here's some good news: Baseball season has begun!
Not for me. I hate baseball. My father saw to that when I was younger. Every baseball season, that's all that played on our only T.V. The game bores me damned near to tears. Only exception is decades later I went to a game where a co-worker friend was on one team and another co-worker friend's husband was on the other team. Knowing who to root for made it more bearable. I'm glad I stream and don't have to worry about what to watch during the season.

My son finally got his car back after being without it for 6 months! It broke down on the highway in the middle of the night when he was on his way to work. It took by trial and error, three mechanics and two engines install attempts, plus a catalytic converter install to finally get the car on the road again. He went to the office last night and got his key fob so he can park in the lot. That's particularly useful because he gets home, sometimes by 2 p.m. and we have meters on the street in front of the apartment.

More good news...though I need to replace my bathroom sink, our new maintenance man told me the same as the last one ...that I don't need to replace the tub faucet yet, tho it has a little drip. To do that they'd have to go into the wall. He showed me what it would have to be doing to warrant replacing the unit. My son got the car back just in time. We'll go pick up a new faucet and head to Costco on Saturday, God willing.

My youngest grandson has been an underachiever most of his school life..the opposite of his sister, my son's 4th child, who has been an over achiever, gotten several awards, was courted by several major colleges and is now attending Stockton on a nearly full scholarship. Unfortunately he missed a lot of school over the last couple of years due to intense fibromyalgia pain that literally had him hurting from head to toe. He made up as much as he could but had to do summer school last year. He told me Saturday when we went for lunch that this semester he is on the high honor roll ! I believe he intends to continue on that path because it's such a good feeling. Plus he has a little girlfriend now. :D
Meanwhile, his sister decided she wants to take summer courses and is enrolled in a work study program with one of Stockton's partner companies. This program will pay her room and board at the dorm and for her classes while she's being paid $15 an hour at her chosen place of employment. She was hired by one of the casinos hotels.
