The three of us pooled our nickels and dimes to buy a case PBR. First taste was like piss, this set the stage for years to come of disliking beer. Of course, my early dislike of beer did not deter me from getting drunk. I was amazed by the amount of urine my body discharged overnight.

I’ve never liked beer, although I’ll do an occasional mixed drink or wine. I found the smell and taste of beer repugnant. My parents both drank beer, my mother to excess. A borderline alcoholic, seeing her drunk more than a few times put me off of the alcoholic lifestyle for life… 🍺

Well, beer is glorious. No problem there.

My first feeling of being drunk was at a Christmas party. I was very young, I'm thinking 9 or 10 years old. My sister (older) had her boyfriend at the party, and for fun they had me drink a shot of Whiskey (which truly was horrible). Then the room began to spin! I didn't drink after that until I was 17 or so.

I'd love to be a discerning drinker, I've tried spirits, wine.... but beer is the best. IMO.

I drank Pabst Blue Ribbon as well as that Budweiser crap, when I was younger. But then I discovered German beer. Never did I drink any beer brewed in this country again. But I gave up all kinds of alcohol in 2013. The same with soda. Haven't missed either one at all. The body doean't need soda or beer. Now it's just water and tea. I'm happy with that.

The first beer I recall was during a high school graduation party for my oldest cousin.

I must have been about 12, 14 at the oldest. I had a lot of cousins, and 4 of us guys almost the same age managed to sneak one bottle out of the galvanized washtub full of ice and beers... once most of the party moved indoors.

This was way out in the sticks on a farm. We went for a walk down their dirt road, each of us taking a sip and passing the bottle.

Of course we were all impressed with it. You didn't show weakness! :ROFLMAO:

Wasn't a beer lover till I went to Europe. A Pint of Lager, Please. Etc. for each country. Zurich, at lunchtime only 'mit grenadine.'

The ONLY beer I have ever liked was bach beer. Bach was produced by our then local breweries (long gone) once a year, usually in January to February. The story I got was that it was made from the leavings at the bottom of the vats that were drained and cleaned at the end of each year. It had a brownish color and was rather sweet in flavor. I guess the reason I don't like beer that much is because of its more bitter taste. I can't find bach beer any longer.

I guess the major beer breweries that gobbled up all the locals don't consider it worthwhile to make the stuff for short supply any longer.
