I was really miffed last evening

My phone rang around 6:30 pm just as I was falling asleep. A recorded message from my pharmacy telling about vaccinations that are available by appointment. I was so angry, it took me a couple of hours to fall back asleep. Why can't they call during business hours? I am not interested in shots anyway.

Pharmacies are open until 8 or 9 here, so 6:30 IS business hours.

Why not turn off your phone when you want to nap?

Take the receiver off the hook. After awhile, it will make a loud sound to alert you the receiver has been bumped or left off the hook. I don't know about where you live, but the loud sound where I live would stop after about a minute, and then go silent the rest of the night.
