I was thinking about smells

How about you what smell brings out memories, good ones please.
Sea air
Slow, muddy creek water
Diesel and even gas fumes
Gas itself
Gun smoke
Hung laundry

An old motel room at the beach
with the aroma of black mold and stale cigarette smoke

Coffee perking from an old pot on the campfire

Grampa
He had a stale smell about him that I kinda enjoyed
(I might now have that)

There's many other smells that rouse my memories, but those first came to mind

Fresh cut hay field, nitro-methane, sage in bloom, diesel fumes in the city. (weird I know)
I liked the smell of nitromethane also. Also, alcohol, Back in the day when I drag raced, I would sometimes used nitromethane, but most of the Top Fuel Dragsters used nitro methane. It runs hotter and gives the engine a bit more power.

We would do burnouts using Clorox Bleach at the starting line to get the tires hot and sticky, so when the Christmas Tree would turn Green, your car wouldn't spin its wheels and you would lose time. As a driver, you just had to make sure your car didn't drift over the line and the Tree would show Red.

The smell of Aspen and Pines when you are in the mountains of Colorado. Usually, a light wind carries the smell to you as you approach a stand of Aspen...this makes my adrenalin flow, as I was raised in the mountains of Colorado...
