Only recently have I discovered the 1950's had some really fantastic music! Please forgive me, I'm sure many of you knew that already...but I was born in 1962 so it was before my time. My brother listened to heavy metal and my Dad was into classical and Edith Piaf. So I just never really heard doo wop before.

Give me some suggestions...my two favorites so far are Dion and the Belmonts and The Big Bopper. " Runaround Sue" is on my IPod as is " Chantilly Lace". I like tunes with a bouncy beat for when I exercise. The Big Bopper had a great voice. Who else should I look up?

Try some Patsy Cline, Wanda Jackson, Sparkle Moore. There were a few more women that pushed the limits of what a "good girl" was supposed to sing.

:DI forgot Little Richard, and before him Cab Calloway...Oh and Fats Domino. Thanks everybody!!! Time to start downloading:D

Was the King mentioned? I think not! Everything else is just noise...
