Hi ; does anyone here still take ibuprofen ? i do; sometimes , but I know after 65 we shouldn't.Most times I'll occsionally take tylenol,but I feel ibuprofen works better.
 

I still take it at times. If a joint hurts bad I'll take 2. I had a headache the other day and took 1 and it went away. But that saying I really don't take it often. I rarely get headaches and my joints have been good to me lately.
 

I have a prescription of Naproxen for the treatment of gout. I have a gout attack every 4 or 5 years and as soon as I feel a "prickly" feeling in my foot I take Naproxen for a couple of days. I know it isn't good for me, but nothing else stops the gout short of sawing that foot off.

I take it every day for my arthritis because the narcotics bother my stomach and nothing else prescribed works worth a darn. Most of the arthritis meds have nsaids in them anyway don't they?
 
I used to take it regularly, but stopped late last year
when I started getting back pain, it doesn't like my
kidneys, you shouldn't take it if you have ever had
any kind of ulcer.

I was told yesterday that Ibubrofen exaggerates COVID19.

I still take ibuprophen. I have a bad case of scoliosis and need something for the daily pain if i have to go out to get the mail or to the store for groceries or to doctor appointments. For some strange metabolic reason i can't take tylenol or anything with acetominophren in it. It's like i have a severe allergy to it. Almost killed me once. We are all metabolically different. Our bodies handle the same drugs way different so we have to be careful to listen to what our bodies are telling us. I'm 81 years old and I've learned that sometimes doctors get it wrong but my body never gets it wrong. For every doctor telling you something is bad there's another that disagrees with him/her. The only real advice i can offer is when taking over the counter meds to start small and ramp up when you find your body can tolerate the thing you're taking. And always keep both your phone and some kind of allergy relief med nearby in case you need it to counteract a bad reaction. My go-to is Benadryl but you really want to check with your GP doctor to see what they recommend. As always, be safe.
 
they was going to take ibuprofen off the market a year ago but I see its still around - I never touch it rather go without ,
