Another opinion from someone, "Having seen the video of myself" <<< his words from your link, but haven't seen the mayor in any video of the incident.
These ICE agents had every right to be there and, indeed, one might argue had a duty to be there. They are this nation’s enforcers of the immigration laws and they certainly would like cooperation from local and other officials. This is their job and there’s no evidence here they weren’t doing their job or doing it improperly. The way these local officials are reacting is extraordinary. The mayor is just lighting a fire under protestors.
You want someone to blame? Blame local politicians for fomenting hate against the agents and blame local police admin for not cooperating with the Feds.
You can’t just decide to barricade streets because you don’t like enforcement actions. Her response to being approached for the barricade should have been either compliance and exit the car or noncompliance and be forcibly removed.
Her decision to attempt to flee and as reported, threaten an agent with her car was her initiating lethal force. The outcome of her actions caused the agents to respond with lethal force. She brought it on herself, her death is the outcome of her own actions.
Mayor, Governor, and others need to STFU and quit whipping people up into a frenzy.
