One of my favorite PBS documentaries is about Tupperware and Brownie Wise the woman who invented the "home party" sales method. It's both inspiring and sad because Mr. Tupper made a fortune through her work for many years and then sold the company and left her with just a small retirement gift.
What I love about the documentary is the older people telling their stories about the early days in the business and how it provided a way for housewives to find a little money and freedom of their own. It's a real time machine trip.
