Idle question for the ladies here.

Would you marry a man with a big beard if you have never seen him clean shaven?
NO... a small beard yes..but not some great big hedge under his chin....

My husband too- had a nice mustache, and some men with beards look great but I would not be attracted to a long bushy beard.
We have quite a few senior men around here , with white hair and long beards, who look like Santa Claus.
But some shave the beard off after hunting season. Or in the spring. Those long beards keep their faces warm.

There's a mole on the right side of my chin, I hate it. Back when I was in my early twenties I had mentioned it to my doctor when I was at an appointment for a flu vaccine. The doctor told me that although it was yet to be proven, mole removal can lead to complications. Doctor added, "why don't you grow a beard?" Taking the doctor's advice, that's what I did.

The beard was kept short and tidy. It was trimmed by my barber every time that I had a haircut which was fortnightly. Thirty-five years or so, on, the white whiskers started showing. The beard came off, I would rather the mole than a Santa appearance. Vain? Who me?

No. I really hate most beards. I can tolerate a well-kept one and I also recognize a man has a right to look like Big Foot if is chooses to. But it baffles me how big, shaggy beards have become popular amongst so many younger men now. I was also baffled by skinny jeans (those are not comfortable), Hummers (they are an environment killers and cry out, "I need you to look at me"), and how so many young people took up vaping.

When I first met DH he had a mustache but no beard. When we started dating he had a beard and has had one for nearly all of the 40+ years we've been married. Full beard, less than 1/2" long. One son nearly always has a full beard and very long hair. His twin brother wears his hair very short - and sometimes sports a short beard. SIL usually has a beard.

I think men look great with beards, but prefer them short and well-trimmed.

white or grey beards are attractive as long as they're kept tidy ...

I've dated and even been in love with bushy beard guys in my past. They seemed like Viking types, or identified that way. I guess I wondered what was underneath all the hair, but was undisturbed enough by that to enjoy a happy relationship, which I had with both of these guys, though not at the same time. Sorry if this is confusing. :giggle:
