If I Knew Then What I Know Now, I Would Have...

1. Learn some social skills, negotiation skills, how to get your needs met, etc., even though your parents actively prevent you from doing so.

2. Marry one of those good guys you met when you were about 25. Before that, you're not ready. After that, you and they are too messed up.

3. **Don't have children.**

4. If you work, put aside maybe 5% of your income.

5. Follow your gut. Too often, following someone's "advice" will end in regret.

6. Live in the tropics. Every winter is a waste of your time.

Hm-m-m!
I would have/ should have studied PHYSICS, art, literature and philosophy at a young age.
From that basis, I would have made better choices; had a higher opinion of myself.
I would have NOT listened to critical opinions from family, saying, "You can't do that."
I would done completely different that what was expected of me.
I would have still raised my two wonderful children! (This was mu joy)
I would have started writing, sculpting and painting so much earlier in my life.

Funny, The things I MOST want to say, the things I MOST would have done differently,
I can't say on a public forum.

I would have toughed it out at home until I graduated, then joined the military. We did not seem to have a lot of choices back then. I would have tried to give myself more experiences and time before making so many choices I felt I was forced into then.

Things worked out ok. The best things that happened to me were probably meeting my second wife and having my son and daughter. Those might not have happened if I had taken a different path.

Anybody remember a movie called Sliding Doors?
