Oh Secret Santa, love that. I remember the last one, I'd received a triple Parker pens set. Ballpoint, pencil and fountain pen with a note saying: "From your Secret Santa! Please continue to pen those amazing short stories and one day, I believe, you'll write a few novels..."

I still have that 1987 Christmas Pen Set, it's been a cherish gift. Nope, never found out exactly who it was, but it had to be one of the guys in my office.

Now, to answer your question, it would depend on the gender, the age and I would try to find out what they're into, before making my final choice.

We also did the white elephant trade at our office Christmas party. I would have gladly taken the picture of the dogs playing poker but instead my gift was a jockstrap with fur sewn on the outside of it. No one wanted that! :ROFLMAO:
 
Ya know.... we could actually do this.

On a certain date .....

One of us could make a list of all "gifts" mentioned that they would contribute. Put them randomly in a grid.

Another of us could put the names of everyone that contributes randomly in a grid.

Then post each grid and match your name spot to a gift name spot and see what you received.

Kinda like the old football or baby pools some of us did at work.

It's a thought. :unsure:
 
For my giftee, I would go try and go through their posts to find out more about them. I’d ask them questions to get to know them better. Then I’d go online and do some research. I’d purchase an item but I’d also carve a Christmas ornament. I’d add a few gingerbreads in a tiny Christmas cookie tin as well as a handful of quality street chocolates. As soon as they open the lid, they'd be struck by the gingerbread/ chocolate scent. I’d wrap the gift up carefully with a gift tag saying it’s from Santa.

At the last gift exchange I was at , we could only spend 5 BUCKS on a gift.

I had a woman to buy for so I got her a kitchen timer and she loved it- and needed it, but her youngest son keep setting it off at our Christmas party until she took it away from him. I regretted what I gave her, but still she said it was something she really needed. I got two beautiful dish towels.

My daughter wants what I gave her last year-she works for the Government and cannot put a dollar bill with any small folds in it, into the many snack and pop machines where she works.
I asked the bank for 50 new ones and the woman said she did her best but they are not all new ones, so, thanks for advice on the internet, I got last year, I can lightly spray some water on some of them, iron them on both sides, and the pesky folds at the ends of them disappear!

we all have polymer notes here...they don't crease or fold....
 
Peppermint Patty- did you ever find a way to post photos here again?

I noticed, because I have a satelitte dish for the internet, that the weather can slow down my ability to post photos here.
I thought maybe my photo program was not working at all.

But sometimes I think of a photo and it takes time to find it. Sometimes I can put Cat or car or tree or food in the photo search (Windows 10) and many will pop up.

That is interesting ,Holly Dolly, on the polymer notes. Our local laundromats and car wash have the same problem if a bill has a small fold near the end of it.
