If the internet was available when you were dating...........

At one time, I couldn't conceive of people actually buying stuff on that "internet". Damn, how things have changed. So I was wondering, if you were back in the dating scene, or if you still are; would you have considered using a internet dating service. Millions of people are.

Years ago, I would have said, "NO way".
Today, maybe.

My niece met her husband on Match.com about 15 years ago. They were the perfect "match" and have been married 13 years. My eldest daughter was divorced and not having any luck in the dating game. Joined Match.com,met a few more "not Mr. Rights" but then met Mr. Right. They have been together for 9 years, married for 6.

I probably would because in 1971 when I was working a co worker gave me an application for a dating service. It was many pages long. Once filled out you sent it back to the company with a small fee and they said they had a computerized system that would send you back 4 or 5 matches. I had no idea what a computer system was or if they even used one for the matches. One of the matches happened to be my husband. That was 45 years ago. Whatever system they used it worked. We were married a year later and it will be 45 years this April.

The internet is so slow here, I'd remain single! Thank goodness for old fashioned romance.

Funny Capt! :D I'm happy for those people who went to online dating sites and found their perfect match. But to answer the question, I wouldn't have used the internet even if I could have back when I was young and still dating, it wasn't necessary, plenty of options in real life to choose from for a date or a more serious relationship. Right now, if my husband passed before me, I doubt that I would be interested in dating anyone again, but if I was I'd want to just meet with someone in real life, and if I clicked with them, pursue it further.

I do not think so. Never trusted them. Especially when you hear of all the scammers out there. I met my husband, as well as the man I dated before him through friends.
