Good question.. the article didn't say if they were suspected of doing something wrong, or if it was just lost/found.
That phrase "Would like a word" made me wonder
This. I wonder that anytime I see a hovering drone even in the distance.
Speaking of helicopters, we were searching for a lost child and my barracks commander asked me if I would like to ride in the helicopter. I very quickly told him “NO!” I flew in one while in Vietnam and promised I would never fly in one again and to this day, I have stuck to my promise that I made to myself. I must have been in a chopper with an inexperienced pilot because we were all over the sky. Up, down turn around while going up or down.
It was one crazy ride, but I said no more helicopter rides, no way. I will walk from here to anywhere we need to be. Our lieutenant said the pilot was trying to stay out of the line of fire. I told him he was doing a good job of it.
My wife wanted to fly one in Hawaii and also in Niagara Falls. I told her I would be here when she got back, but she wouldn’t go without me, so there was no helicopter rides.

Since it isn't cheap it could be something as simple as wanting to return it to it's owner . Not much interest if the article said State police found this helicopter. Adding "want a word" makes people curious.
