If you could be successfully in any job of your choice, what would it be and why?

Me too!

I seriously considered opening a small used bookstore when I retired but thankfully came to my senses.

I have 2 grand daughters that read avidly. One uses the books on her phone, the other always has a hard copy or paperback in her
hands. She says she loves the feel of the pages and turning them and knowing when she puts it down, her place is not lost. More
need to think like her. The thickness of a book in your hand tells so much about the effort and imagination of the writer and your
progress (or dread) to finishing it.

Fashion designer! Failing that, anything creative :)

If I had the musical skills (which I don't) I'd like to be a musician. 🎶

I would enjoy being a professor at a major university. My wife is retired from Georgetown University and was head of the History Department (for awhile), which was strongly centered on U.S. History. I thoroughly enjoyed my career as a pilot for United, but I often thought I would also enjoy teaching aviation.

I have my Masters, but it would be better if I had a PhD to secure the position that I am referring to. There are a few universities that offer this degree in aviation sciences. Years back, I did look into it, but was very satisfied with flying, so I was never 100% certain I wanted to change careers.

I was okay with working in accounting, and would probably do it again. I prefer working with numbers, forecasting, financial planning strategies - - - and there was a certain job security in my field, which I preferred over constant change.

However, I also recognize that AI may play a much bigger role going forward which well become a future issue in that field.
