This happens with every tattoo and body piecing thread
Members ‘should’ probably stick to the topic but unfortunately they don’t and there’s really nothing anyone can do about it. What people do with their own body is their own business. Unfortunately people make it their own business and feel the need to express that. Some people express themselves respectfully and some people don’t. These two types of people clash. Clashing personalities are why threads get closed. No amount of disliking this type of conduct will stop it.perhaps people should stick to answering the question :If you got a tattoo what would it be?
So, if, like me, you wouldn't actually get one but can answer hyopthetically what you would like if you were going to - do so
If you would get one, answer accordingly
If you wouldnt get one, but have a humourous answer like somebody said the invisible man - answer with that.
if you dont like tattoos at all - just scroll past the thread. no need for derogatory remarks and hijacking the thread: the question wasn't do you like them
As an analogy - if I started a thread - if you were buying new lawn bowls what logo would you get?
people could answer I dont play or ever intend to play lawn bowls but hyopthetically I would get xyz
Or a humourous non derogatory answer
Or a real answer
But if you just hate lawn bowls or think it is stupid or it says something about people who play or feel the need to point out the obvious fact that logos are permanant and cannot be removed from the bowls - scroll past.
don't hijack the thread with posts irelevant to the question
Yes, I know that we are expected to stay on topic but, unfortunately, I think I'm not very good at it. In fact, I'm off topic right now.Members ‘should’ probably stick to the topic but unfortunately they don’t and there’s really nothing anyone can do about it. If we haven't trod on a few toes, we might not have been for a walk...Yes, I know that we are expected to stay on topic but, unfortunately, I think I'm not very good at it. In fact, I'm off topic right now.
Apparently, not only can threads be closed, they can be deleted.
Well I also went off topic to answer Januarys post but , like yourself, I’m often going off topic . Forum conversations resemble real life conversations; they go off topic. That’s perfectly normal. Maybe this thread will get closed due to my post, maybe even deleted.Yes, I know that we are expected to stay on topic but, unfortunately, I think I'm not very good at it. Sorry. With tats, my mind immediately goes to Holocaust. It's the way I was raised, with tattooed people being only sailors & camp survivors.perhaps people should stick to answering the question :If you got a tattoo what would it be?

Nice!Gee, I have 4 tats, all Sailor Jerry designs. Waited until after I retired to get the first one (Hula Girl), got the second one (Mermaid) for my 70th birthday, and the last 2 (4 Aces & Dice) for my 71st birthday. They are all covered up with a t-shirt. The only time I exposed them in public was when I was riding my last Harley (which I no longer have). I'd like to have one more, but kinda running out of room, since I would like to be able to see it with a mirror. Maybe for my 80th birthday???
Didn’t you mean to say when in public , not when ‘not ‘ in public.Nice!
I think potenitlly offensive tattoos (which IMO involve foul language and/or nudity) should be generally covered up when not in public.
Yes, I did; thank you, @PeppermintPatty! I've corrected that in my post as well as my misspelling of "potentially." I was typing too fast!Didn’t you mean to say when in public , not when ‘not ‘ in public.
