I'm not sure how to sell it, to be honest. I listed something on Marketplace a while back but I got scammers so I haven't listed anything since. I'm sure he'll do it if needed. He's a nice young man and mulched the rest of the leaves in my yard after my husband died. He was doing his own yard and asked if I wanted him to do mine. He told me then that if we got snow that needed plowed he'd do my driveway. He has a plow that attaches to his truck and he owns a bowling alley so he has to make sure that's plowed.@Colleen This would be the ideal time to sell your snowblower or are you waiting to see if your neighbour really will do your driveway.
I’ve used MP lots and only sell within the community. Some things don’t sell, some I get lots of responses. I put a fair price and always get cash. When they come to pick up, I have it in the garage and imply that DH is home, even if he isn’t. I have a table in there that I’ve set some things aside for garage sales. Sometimes I’ll ask if they’re interested in anything else; I’ve had a few extra sales that way.I listed something on Marketplace a while back but I got scammers
True, and I should've added to my above post (#24) that some people don't know how to access those kinds of services (for elderly, low income, etc.) or even in some cases that such services are even available. It can be impossible to find someone to hire and you have to hope they’re trustworthy.
I feel so lucky that I live in a neighborhood where I'm close to at least 4 of my neighbors and can ask for recommendations. The firm that remodeled parts of our home, our landscaper and our electrician were all recommended by my neighbors and they have been great. One of my neighbors also recommended a gentleman that could help me find the best Medicare supplement plan. I quickly discovered when I moved to Texas that it is all about "networking".It can be impossible to find someone to hire and you have to hope they’re trustworthy.
How about giving the snow blower to the guy that plows your drive, maybe the mower also since he's helped with yard work. Consider it a barter of good will.I'm not sure how to sell it, to be honest. I think I'm going to have a yard sale this spring so I'll set it out for sale then along with the lawn tractor.
They're both brand new and I don't think a one-time mulching of my leaves warrants such a generous "barter"...haha. Besides....I need the $$$$.How about giving the snow blower to the guy that plows your drive, maybe the mower also since he's helped with yard work. Consider it a barter of good will.
OK, I get that. I didn't realize things were new or the neighbor only helped once. Sell away!$$They're both brand new and I don't think a one-time mulching of my leaves warrants such a generous "barter"...haha. Besides....I need the $$$$.
