If you were forced to choose between Books, TV, and Computer which would you let go?

I never put my T.V. on until 4.30 pm. I spend most of the time switching between channels because most things are boring. I love documentaries and shows like Escape to the Country and people doing up old houses.
I have a low tier channel package. There really is nothing on. I'm channel switching also. I like the game shows Hey Yahoo and Switch. I only started getting The Game Show Network about a year ago on my tier package. I refuse to pay more and get more channels. I already feel I pay too much for the bundle.

I'd keep my computer, I can live without a TV and I can read books on my computer although it is getting harder to find a book that I enjoy reading, YouTube is my number one entertainment for now.

Yep, my daughter and I are reduced to watching that as well. Nothing like seeing people demolish a house and then rebuilding it! Very satisfactory! This may make me look unmanly <cringe> but we also watch cooking shows together ... and that's about it! Hardly worth all the momey I spend on streaming. I must cancel some of the streamers especially since new contents might not be forthcoming this fall with the writers'/ actors' strike still in full swing!
Old Salt; Totally agree with you . My son has just come to my place for a couple of weeks and every night we watch the cooking channel. He is such a good cook and I have managed to put on a couple of pounds since he got here.!!!!

I had to go back to books I read ages ago! I am enjoying the "Spenser" series by Robert B. Parker at the moment! And I agree re. YouTube even though I go slightly wild when they put a commercial in the middle of something I'm watching! How dare they interrupt something I am interested in!

For those who would get rid of the tv, do you just watch movies by yourself on your computer?

Based on the number and size of TVs in Costco, etc, it seems like they’re still popular.

While I still have a TV I would never watch a movie on a tablet or a PC! If I only had a computer I don't think I would watch any movies. I have re-watched all the oldies and goodies and can't muster up any enthusiasm for Marvel, DC Comics and Vin Diesel in Drag races!

However, I would most likely buy another TV if my present one packed it in. I love watching shows in High definition. I have waited half of my adult life for HD! And even though I am disenchanted with most of the latest shows and movies coming out, I like watching documentaries and some reality shows, as well as YouTube on a sixty inch screen!

I would get rid of it, reluctantly, if my choice were to keep my precious books and PC. Every day on a PC can be an adventure if one is curious, so "goodbye" TV!

Interesting question and an easy answer: T.V. for sure! I cut the cable 23 years ago. I do have a ROKU that I sometimes watch in the evening but I sure don't need the advertising geared for brain dead people.

I have been a lifelong reader of mostly nonfiction books and will not give that up. I have been on the computer since 1989 (when there was this "funny" looking green screen & I used a funny little 3.5 inch floppy to save things). However, I refuse to become addicted. I "fire" her up, do my thing and then shut "her" down. I have a full life; praise the lord!
