If Your Service Provider was Sick?

If you went to someone like a hairdresser, masseuse, etc. ( i.e. someone who would be working close to you), and saw that they weren’t healthy, would you insist the appointment be cancelled. They‘d probably insist they were just about over it. I’d certainly be annoyed that they hadn’t called and given me the option to change my plans.

I'd be annoyed that they didn't have the sense to stay home if they were ill and were willing to risk making others sick just to make a buck. I'm sure some people are dependent on having a certain income to meet their bills, but that's no excuse for putting others in jeopardy. I would leave and inform them that I'm not willing to be attended to by someone who's visibly ill.

This is not about what others should be doing. It's about protecting ourselves. I'd say, "I see that you're sick. I don't want to catch anything, so I'm going home." How they react is up to them. How you respond to their reaction is up to you.

I had a pass for my local gym, good for 3 months. When the government ordered gyms closed because of Covid, the gym (and several others) decided to stay open illegally. I decided not to go, and I lost out on the privileges I'd paid for.

The gym didn't offer to extend the expiration date. So now they've lost my business. I understand their viewpoint, and I'm not saying who was right or wrong. Just saying we all have to do what's right for ourselves.
