Il Divo star Carlos Marin has died from the effects of Covid-19

Il Divo star Carlos Marin has died in hospital after his life support machine was turned off following a Covid battle.

The Spanish singer, 53, fell ill with the virus on December 7 and was later placed in a medically induced coma at the Manchester Royal Hospital.

He had been in the intensive care unit and was intubated after having his oxygen 'compromised'.

Confirming his death on Twitter, the group said: 'It is with heavy hearts that we are letting you know that our friend and partner, Carlos Marin, has passed away.

'He will be missed by his friends, family and fans. There will never be another voice or spirit like Carlos.

'For 17 years the four of us have been on this incredible journey of Il Divo together, and we will miss our dear friend.

'We hope and pray that his beautiful soul will rest in peace. With Love -- David, Sebastien and Urs.'

Baritone Marin had been a star of Il Divo since its inception in 2003, and the group has gone to sell more than 30 million copies of their albums worldwide.

The group are also considered the pioneers of operatic pop, or 'popera', and their live concerts have sold more than two million tickets worldwide.

Thanks for sharing this - I've never heard this version before. Since I first heard it a few years ago it has become one of my favorite songs - if not the favorite. I've also come to appreciate the genius of Leonard Cohen as I hear more of his songs. I never liked him when I was younger though I did buy a Leonard Cohen album when I was in college simply because it was the cool thing to do. I wish I had kept it. THis song, in particular, is beautiful. And with the loss of Carlos Marin, the world has lost another great talent and beautiful soul. Very sad.

My guess is as good as any expert's guess since the experts know so little. And (unlike doctors) I don't have to push a vaccine.
If someone is young & healthy with no underlying conditions & they get very sick & die of something the vaccine should have prevented, the vaccine may have compromised his immune system & prevented it from fighting an illness he could have recovered from (as so many have).

it transpires he had a full blast of C-19 the year before....
