Illegal aliens

It was reported today that 77 illegal aliens were found in a U.P.S. truck after a highway patrol officer observed the truck looking like it was riding "down on it's springs". A border patrol officer happened by and offered assistance. It was discovered that several of the men smuggling the aliens had been deported numerous times. The CBP officer said that this time criminal charges would be filed against the men. (about bloody time).

Criminal charges should be filed for criminal activity

Is there any significance to it being a UPS truck?

Not that I'm aware of. Some smuggler probably figured that a UPS truck looked "innocent" and would not be stopped by the police or border patrol. Unfortunately, for the smugglers, they were too stupid to know that 77 people would put one hellava load on the truck springs, and that is what got them caught.

The article said the truck had the smell of fresh paint so I assume that they just painted an old delivery van to look like a UPS truck.

I don't think the smugglers really care if the people make it across the border safely. If the smugglers get their money upfront and lose an old van or a driver it's just a cost of doing business.

I remember reading about someone who had painted a truck to look like some kind of state or county truck, and had used that to drive illegally; so I agree that this was probably a box van that was painted to look like a UPS truck.
The real UPS trucks haul a lot of weight, so if they actually stole one, it should have had better springs on it than just a regular box van that was stolen.
It is such a paradox that these people come up here, then they proudly wave the Mexican flag like they love the country ; but think it is dreadfully wrong when we send them back to that country they love so much.
The ones that want to take over America (or at least the southern states) for Mexico are even more ridiculous. Then they would have to live here in the same conditions they were trying so hard to escape from in the first place.

Well said and exactly correct.
