I'm Afraid We'll Be Needing Water in 4 Years. Reservoir Water Release.

I went over and fed the cats before 6 this AM since it's gardener day. It was dark but I could see the gulch had really filled up even more with rushing water. I'm assuming much is snow melt off from the rain. In the summer or when no rain, the gulch is dry and it's good sized.

People seem to be reactive…not proactive. Clark county (Las Vegas) has cut water consumption drastically in the last ten years…while growing the population. So it can be done. But arizona has done little to address the problems as of yet. The colorado river was over allocated when the original allotments were given to the states. They have known for years that the calculations used for the state allotments were off by about thirty percent. This means that every state that has an allotment will see a reduction at some point. The water does not exist to sustain current demands…let alone increase demands. Some people say farms use too much water. But we all eat. And I say that it is a whole lot easier to pay a farmer for his water than to tell the hundreds of homeowners in a subdivision not to take a shower or flush. Just saying….

For sure. I liken each avoidable crisis mankind faces to one of those news videos that shows a bunch of people on a beach memorized by an incoming tidal wave. They stand there, seemingly with great interest as it slowly approaches, and then when it's too late, they all run for their lives.
