I'm age 90 and face death in the next couple of years.

The fact is you have to live your life every day as tho' it were you last because despite eating well and exercising... you never know what fate has in store for you..

At just turned 70, I was lucky not to lose my life in July this year, due to an incompetent other driver, who smashed into me, overturned my car on it's roof 3 times...and wrote my car off, and I ended up in urgent car Resus in the hospital.. with several injuries.. and paramedics were very surprised I was still alive..... and 4 months on, I'm still suffering from those injries which has brought a big slowing of my life ...

That could have been my last day on earth and i wasn't prepared for it to be....

My car before it was hit....

My point is.. stop whining... just be glad you're not dead....

Here's a picture of @Mitch86's "boat that he's in"...

15 of the Most Expensive Yachts Owned by Hollywood Celebrities - Onedio

(I think that's him on the stern...?)
I had to sell my house to buy the yacht that I sailed to Hawaii and Alaska, but judging from the above, I can say with certainty, that we are not all in the same boat. I did see one boat while I was sailing the inside passage of Alaska. A helicopter was landing on that yacht's heliport. Even then, it was much smaller than the boat in the picture.

I'm still saving for the one in the picture.

I have this thought in my head that when death finally comes calling it's going to interrupt something I'm in the middle of, and I won't be able tell it to wait just a little longer.

I'm wondering if anyone else here is in in the same boat as me. I'm age 90 and will probably die in the next couple of years. I now spend most of my time playing the PC game, Civilization VI. It gets my mind of my sad reality.
@Mitch86 I am 75 and sailing on the survivors boat. It isn't the Good Ship Lollypop, but it stays afloat. I will say we are in the same ocean, but our boats differ. If my boat takes on water, it gets bailed out and any leaks repaired. My boat has even capsized, but with hard work and determination, I got it back up right and sailing onward toward the sunset. I check each island for the magical Fountain of Youth, but I have decided it doesn't exist and determination is survival. I am determine to make it to 100 and still be young at heart and mind. My secret is getting up early, donning a bikini, doing my workout, and in warm weather, walking the beach.

Will I feel the same at 90? I have no idea and can't find my crystal ball, but I hope to carry on same as I do now. You sound like my husband, Mitch. He said he would make 70 tops, then 75 tops, and now he says 80, but not any more than 80. He is a whiner and treasures his whining points like they are gold.

That's REALLY bad to see all of photos you publicing here that reminds me my adult son's accident two decades ago.

My adult son got an accident, one car accident in his late teens.
Like yours, his car rolled over 3 times, but miracurasely there was non-serious injuries. Just scrape here and there along with his beloved dog which was a bit of shaked-up, but non-injuries. Safety-belt in the car apparently saved both my son and his beloved dog.

Since an avoidable accident, he never got any accident, even 'speeding ticket.' He learned GOOD lesson from his mistake driving icy-road in early morning when he visited his grandparents who live out of state.

Very pleased to hear your son escaped without serious injury.

I wasn't so lucky, and am still suffering now from the injuries , and I had to have plastic surgery .... to my arm and hand... and that is ongoing

Those pictures are the ones that are the least shocking... I have worse ones..

I find it more annoying that someone else did this to me, rather than something I did to myself If you see what I mean ...I have never caused an accident or been involved in one since I passed my driving test decades ago... so this came as a big shock to me... and really has knocked my confidence as a driver, when before I've always been a very confident driver.. now I find myself really quite jittery , thinking every car is going to hit me...

I REALLY understand your unexpected trauma.

Unlike my adult, someone caused 'this sort of accident' is not-avoidable.

You live in UK, what kind of penalty the other driver who caused accident? Here, in the State where I live, most likely Driver's License will be suspending along with Insurance cancelled. Even, some needs to go to Jail for causing this sort of accident.

I also understand your confidence driving the car has been shattered, but driving is privilege and freedom to enjoy. You may need 'good support' from your partner(husband) and your family members to overcome your trauma.

Unfortunately the driver who caused the accident will not face any charges because she wasn't drink or drug impaired, just a bad driver.. The most that will happen to her is that she will have to pay much higher Insurance premiums in the future...

Ironically, I'd just gone thought my decree Nisi ( Divorce) just 6 weeks before the accident, so I live alone...

Stop wondering about it and just live the best way you can.
Like me at 92, you have reached the point of no return.

I am coping with health issues from my younger days and new ones in old age which will never get better.
They are normal aging problems and happen whether we like it or not.
Think how lucky you are to be able to play games on PC and use it to connect to other people.

I presently have a friend in a hospice who can only lie in bed staring into space with very little sight.
He needs to die but family won't let him.
That is a sad reality.sad.gif

I love your outlook on life.

I don't like old folks complaining about them dying. We all will die. Most of my friends are now dead. The smokers all died in their 50s. I am 79.5 today and really enjoying my life. Going cruising for 28 nights in December and January. Life is good and life is mostly what you make it. Stop starring at the TV and "get a life."

she got off??? how?

My conclusion after reading all the other posts in this thread so far is that HEAVEN for me is inside the Civilization VI world. There I can rule a nation from the stone age to the jet age and engage in wars of total destruction and enjoy the victories. When I finally die in that game (it happens all the time), I just get reborn in another challenge with my stone age club and look forward to acquiring all the nukes later on so I can hear the little people screaming as I drop my nukes near the end.
