I'm back... made it through Milton.

Remember when... thirty seemed so old.
Got lucky. Not much damage but, lost the internet until today. Gas is still iffy.
Got a bit peeved reading some posts about Milton being overrated. Try to explaining that to the folks around here that still have no power. Or my friends who have tree's punched through their roofs and flood water (without the tidal surge) that has destroyed everything they own. :(
Then, there's the deal where it's near impossible to find young able bodied people to help. (not even for money).
Ok... I feel better no that I've vented.

The branches through the roof is bad, but not real hard to fix. The flood damage is awful. We have had both at our house. The roof patch took a few hours to fix. The flood damage took a month. Mud everywhere and on everything. Snakes swimming through our house. Ruined furniture and some appliances. The house structure being terribly compromised, and the stinky polluted smell got worse.

Glad your ok...good luck with the clean up.

Yep... could have been worse. The tree limb went right between the trusses so damage wasn't as bad as it might have been. Also, the bigger tree fell in the back yard and missed the house.

My brother-in-law in Largo near Tampa Bay in flood Zone D said the water was over the street up to the edge of his lawn as he has never seen due to the 10+ inches of rain plus prior heavy rain! What was left of his fence from Helene got trashed by Milton so he is tearing it all down and rebuilding it. They must have a good drainage setup cause if we had that much rain, every bridge and many roads would be washed out!

We lost power and cable for almost 20 hours. I also have between $5-8000 (my guess) in damages. I have contractors that I used before lined up to take care of the damages. Insurance will take care of most if it. I have a $2500 deductible.

This is the problem with living on the coast.
