I'm back... made it through Milton.

While finally out and about, I saw linemen sleeping on the ground by their trucks. Stopped and told them they were welcome to sleep at the house. Unfortunately, they weren't allowed to leave the trucks, or bring them to the house. Those guys are real hero's.
That is really impressive! And how kind of you to offer to let them sleep in the house.

That branch is damage to your house? That's bad enough. This is horrible for anyone experiencing damage and loss.

They were at a hospital. The Mrs had a head injury and cracked her femur, and the Mr stayed at the hospital with her until she was released on Saturday. Neither injury was very serious. The family lost track of them bc they were transported from their house to a military base, to a hosp in FL, to a medical center in Georgia, and the "chain of custody" wasn't communicating well, or wasn't able to.

She was not injured by the hurricane, she had a bad fall while they were rushing to evacuate.

After she was released on Sat, they were put up in a motel and assumed their son and daughter were informed, but they weren't. A friend and neighbor of theirs finally contacted their daughter to let her know they're taking them back home. The daughter lives in Nevada, the son lives here in Calif; she called him last night and he called me this morning.

So, they're both fine. Probly home by now. The main problems were a series of moves, poor communication, and a lot of confusion. (the Mrs is 77 and the Mr is 83)

I'm glad that you are safe SD and glad that your damage was not extensive. Considering all that happened, it was nice of you to let us know early on.
