I'm Dating Again

It's been 24 years since I was into the dating scene, met and married my second wife, and now going through a amicable divorce which will become final in April 2015. I don't plan on marrying again, but I like and miss female companionship. I have invited a lady that I just met yesterday to come to my apartment tonight to share a broiled salmon, salad, French bread, wine.

I married 1 female ,42 years, and thats enough for me.

I turned 80 in July and though I like the ladies I will not marry again. If my first wife had not died in 1989 we would have been married 57 years on November 2, 2014
 
I have been happily married for 45 years to the same woman, I can't answer what I'd do if she passed before me. I hope and pray it doesn't happen. But on the other hand my son is having issues with married life. He has just recently divorced his 2nd (she filed). He claims he is taking it much slower now at 47. He had struck up an online relationship with a former school mate and since his final 2 weeks ago they have been on 3 dates. His ex already has taken up with an old friend from her home town and it'll be her 4th.

Slow but sure has different meaning to the younger set I guess.

If I am widowed I will not marry again. Nobody could measure up to the husband that it took 3 tries to find.

Thank you Quicksilver, I will. My second wife is a retired RN/CNM that is a Chronic Insomniac and has been for years despite Sleep Studies, therapy etc.All those late night deliveries perhaps. The sleep deprivation for so long really altered her personality and led to our marital discord.

I hope you and the lady become good friends and good company for each other.

I belong to the never say never club. I have no idea what I would do if widowed.. I cannot make a statement of absolute certainty. When my husband died, I was 150% positive I would never remarry. How could I???? I've been remarried 11 years now.

Aw, I'm jealous. Best wishes on the new relationship! ... finding new love is a glorious thing.

Well the meal I prepared was fine and the conversation OK, but this is a lady I won't be following up with. She is 8 years younger than me but with all the attributes of a much older crotchety domineering & bossy bitch.
