Fed up buying stuff , and finding it's significantly reduced in volume and I'm paying more for it...

Butter for example.. gone from 250grm to 200 grms, no reduction in price.. but often increases..

Chocolate.. flour... toilet rolls with fewer sheets.. and so on...


Are you finding shrink inflation in your supermarket trolley, a problem ?
 

Yes, and no. Honestly, when I see it with regards to chocolate, I don't mind. It's unhealthy, and I don't need it. Less is better (self control would be even better, alas.....)

After my life in the US, butter isn't something I buy (mayonnaise for me).

Toilet paper has gotten complicated. Two-ply, four-ply, this aroma, that aroma, impregnated with this, or that.

I wish paper towels were cheaper, I get through a ton of those.

I use butter.. I like it.. and it's real butter...

Always buy paper goods from Costco.. the quality is much better than anywhere else.. 3 ply loo roll there is far superior to anywhere else.. no need for ''flavours''....and like you I go through a lot of Paper towels.. again I buy from Costco.. in bulk... huge superior quality.. and size.. and better value. The size of a sheet of Kirkland kitchen roll is the size of a Tea tray.. and the thickness of Jay cloth.. I often just use half a sheet , a 12 pack lasts for months

Yesterday for example.. I got 24 tins of Branston beans for £12.00... 24 will last me a year.. and works out at 50p a can. The same size , and brand in the supermarket is £1.00 per can or more.. so I've cut the price of those beans totally in half by getting them at Costco..

yes that's true Don.. but it sticks in the craw when it looks like the item is still at the same price but when you get it home, you realise there's a 1/4 less product

Yes. Smaller rolls on things like TP, paper towels, etc. Less total weight in frozen foods and canned goods. Restaurants, too... and a regular burger at McD's is positively tiny now! I could understand downsizing to keep up with inflation, but to downsize and still put the price higher is what they're doing... that's sneaky.
