I'm hosting a birthday party...

Hi all. I'm new here and I have a bit of a dilemma. I'd like to host a very small birthday get-together for a friend (it would only be 3 of us). I sent the invite out yesterday and stated that any Wednesday works for me and I'd leave it up to the invitees to decide. The birthday girl left a phone message today saying she's busy on Wednesdays because of a club she's in (not sure what it is). I spend time with a loved one in a nursing home 5 days/week and I take Wednesdays and Sundays off so my question is, who should bend me, who's hosting or the birthday girl? I'm thinking of changing it to Sunday as I really can't switch the days I go to the nursing home. Would love to hear your comments/ideas.

I kind of get a vibe that the birthday girl may not want a party at all since she...

a) replied by an impersonal phone message
b) club meetings don't go from morning to night
c) she didn't leave an alternative day or time to do it

I could be wrong of course, or overreacting...just my first reaction not knowing much about you or your friend.

OP: "Birthday girl?"
Do any seniors call their "friend" that? o_O:unsure:

"Just the 3 of us, all friends, " and they can't figure it out?
Unusual for first post in a new forum. (for Seniors)

Would love to see a different post, in the Intro section.
Before we react. That's my take.

oh it matters not in the great scheme of things , surely?...it's nice to get an introductory post but not everyone who joins sees it.. and they may have put their question into google and this forum came up , and so they join to ask the question.. no biggie really IMO...
let's not pick on a newbie for not making an introductory post or for how she describes a friend on a special day... , that's the sort of thing that puts others off from joining

FYI..I call it birthday girl too.. can't see much wrong with that ...

Ok, just my wondering. Thought I would share it.
:)

Btw, I wouldn't have mentioned the Intro post suggestion, if this post had made sense to me. Thought it might be nice to get more idea. But not required, of course.:geek:

Welcome Juno, (you’ve picked a good site, just check out the ‘Ignore’ option) ...

As to your question, Sunday seems to be the best suggestion, very kind of you to give your friend a party, have a great time
