I'm Just Getting Over A Covid Infection (Again!)

I first noticed symptoms 10 days ago, 4 days after attending my son's wedding. At first I thought maybe I had a mild case of the flu. In the middle of the night, my sleep was disturbed by strange pains in my legs. Two acetaminaphen pretty much took care of that (BTW the best by date was years ago). By the next day I felt the chest congestion, so my son picked up CVS Tussin DM. By that night my nose was pretty stuffed up so next day he stopped at CVS again and picked up a CVS decongestant pills, which are tiny so that I can swallow them. I was so glad to find them. I don't know why so many of the cold pills look like horse pills....I can't swallow them.

Really, COVID presented more like a head and chest cold this time. I was sick enough last time that my son had to take care of me and he was infected too. I had a fever but wasn't sick enough to be hospitalized. I was treated at an emergi-center. This time my highest temp was 99.5 which went down to 96.3 the next day. I lost my appetite, but not my sense of taste. All I wanted was soup, mostly Lipton packaged chicken noodle, and peanut butter. Consequently, I lost around 10 pounds, a welcomed effect.

I didn't do much coughing or sneezing. When I cough it's very hard for me to bring the phlegm up, so that only happened twice. After a few days it seemed I was getting better, then it got worse again, which prompted me to take the at home test (back to CVS for my poor son). I was surprised when it showed positive for COVID...I was more expecting Flu.

On day 7, the day after I tested, I texted my PCP and he got back to me within 20 minutes to set up a tele-med visit. As suspected, it was too late to get COVID medication and we ruled out other RXs due to contraindications with my complicated medication regimen and my unwillingness to take anything with codeine or prednisone in it. I told him the Tussin worked well, but I stopped taking it when I took the decongestant. I hate taking so much stuff. We decided I'd just continue with what I was doing. Doctor said I should no longer be infectious as of today. My son's test was negative. Today was the first day I felt like sitting at the computer since I got sick...so here I am.

Sorry and I hope you get well soon.
Their advice on Covid got tens of thousands killed.
The vaccines do not always work and sometimes disable people.
I have never had the vaccines and have never had Covid.
Covid is not generally contracted by air. And the masks they suggest have no effect from protecting you from Covid. Covid is so small that it can pass 50 across any mask fiber, not to mention the edges of the mask. The only mask that can protect you from Covid is a military mask that takes a suction on the face with separate filters.

Covid is mostly contracted by touch. Here is what you do, get some surgical gloves. When you leave the house put your gloves on and when you come back throw them in the trash outside your home. Then wash your hands. Do not touch your face with the gloves on.

They have early medications for the onset of Covid that can shorten the time it takes to recover.
