what with all the digital carp (every time Kroger's computer tries to deposit my paycheck, it kicks it right back out) and DGD testing + for covid and where the heck is DH when I need him? Sometimes I actually get mad at him for dying.

Hear that lonesome whippoorwill
He sounds too blue to fly
The midnight train is whining low
I'm so lonesome I could cry
I've never seen a night so long
When time goes crawling by
The moon just went behind the clouds
To hide its face and cry
Did you ever see a robin weep
When leaves begin to die?
That means he's lost the will to live
I'm so lonesome I could cry
The silence of a falling star
Lights up a purple sky
And as I wonder where you are
I'm so lonesome I could cry

I think this sadness is in the air, like thoughts of depression from weakened minds.
We (widows) have to fight against this overtaking our minds. We have to stay positive!
Today would have been his Birthday.
It's cold and windy outside. The whole world is enveloped in sadness.
Watch comedies, listen to happy music, DO ANYTHING to snap out of the lowly thoughts.
We've all been there and we all feel what you're feeling.
Ask your Angels to surround you and help you through this.
You have strength within you. You will be fine and all of us ladies will be helping you
with out prayers and thoughts!

I feel for you Georgia. Take a deep breath, you'll get through this. Give yourself a big hug, you deserve it...another from me. 💙

Thanks, @Gaer, for your inspiring words of wisdom! :)

Georgia, I really do feel your pain, but I'm not going to share mine. What I want you to think about is how you can help others with the experience, painful though it is, that life has asked you to endure: Julie Sheldon puts it in a much better way than I could ever compose.

The Same Boat
by Julie Sheldon

‘We’re all in the same boat’ they say
But I would disagree
So many different sailing crafts
Upon this stormy sea

Some sail on ocean liners
In comfort, style, and ease
Relaxing on their balconies
….Sipping their G & Ts

Some speed along in motor boats
As if it’s all ok……
With little care for smaller crafts
Which may get in their way

Some struggle on their battleships
Where nothing’s going right
Endlessly preparing…..
For the next relentless fight

Some huddle in their lifeboats…
And pray that they’ll be saved
Hoping for a calmer sea…
And fearing every wave

Some drift around upon their rafts….
They barely stay afloat
They’re praying for a change of luck…
And chance to board a boat

Some haven’t found their sea legs yet….
And dread each wave and swell
They’re struggling to stay upright
And don’t feel very well

So whilst you’re on your journey
To a safe and calmer port
Look out for fellow sailors
Who may need some support

Could you throw them a life belt?
Or a paddle or an oar?
Perhaps you could help guide them
A bit nearer to the shore

Thanks, guys. It helps to know there are invisipeeps out there in cyberspace who understand.

@Irwin Yeah. Digital cr@p. Got it;)? I guess I could have said crap.

@horseless carriage, I don't mean to sound ungrateful for your encouragement, but right now? I'm busy wallowing in self pity and just don't feel like helping anybody else.

Back to work in the morning. It'll help a lot to be around lights and people. I just hope they don't breathe on me! My "weekends" are Sunday and Monday, but my weekend this time was Saturday, Sunday and Monday. That threw me all outta kilter. The store is open on New Year's Day so that'll help, too, and I won't be wondering what day it is.

Love 💕 it! 😉

I hear you because I to sometimes feel the same way. Your workday will give you something else to focus on and hopefully lessen the pain.
Me too, it does feel some days you'd have been better not getting out of bed in the first place, but I do like the "fight" or guts shown in the OP, despite depressing poem, and this suggests to me a better than even chance things will improve! :)

Fantastic poem, though in one sense at least we are all in the same boat, a journey towards our demise, "to add to the depression there", (or suggest the attitude "eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we,..."!).
