I'm so old that......

I can remember back when we were in primary school a police officer used to come into each classroom to teach us the rules of crossing the road i.e. when we wanted to cross over the road we must, look to the right, then look to the left, then look to the right again and then when it was safe hurry across but don't run. He also told us about "stranger danger". I don't think this is taught in schools today. It was drummed into our heads, and I never forgot it and taught it to my boys when they attended school.

Remember how excited I got when it was 'BookMobile' day at the school.

Waiting in line, wondering what to check out because it was an important decision.
Thinking that if they got rid of the books about dresses, jewelry, sappy stories, they'd have
more room for books about SPACE!

I'm so old that I can remember when computer games were science fiction. Boys kicked around a football and the girls had hula hoops and skipping ropes. Did they also have some sort of rhyme they sang when they were skipping?
