I filled vending machines in the morning at Bic pen for a while so I could paint in the afternoon.

I'm so old I can remember having air raid drills along with fire drills in elementary school. We would get out of our seats, go into the hall, and put our faces to the wall, and cover up our heads with our arms. How that would protect us from a falling bomb, I have never figured out. Same for other people who have said that in their school, they had to crawl under their desks during an air raid drill. They would have ended up just as dead as those of us in the halls. Who came up with dumb ideas?
