Imagine your mail being stopped because of the virus

We don't have as far to go, as we've already been

Sounds like the work of a mail sorter who was worried the Chinese Cooties would jump out of this poor woman's mail and onto him. :( They're very quick, as we all know. They have those little appendages. Some say they can even turn corners, leap tall bldgs. at a single bound. They're much more clever than American cooties. (y)

How ridiculous. :ROFLMAO: I'll have to call my son; he lives on 22 acres outside of Smithville. He may want to put his mailbox in social isolation.

About three weeks ago...maybe closer to a month..we didn't get our mail for a week. So one day I saw the mail lady as she was putting mail in the box and I asked her how often would our mail be delivered. She said whenever somebody comes in that can do it. We're getting mail more regularly now. Yes...I think our mail delivery is or was being impacted by the virus.

Our area hasn't been impacted by this virus, but I notice that items I order Online are taking quite a bit longer to arrive, in recent weeks. Tracking some of these items shows them to be sitting in various "distribution centers" for sometimes days. It appears that the USPS is experiencing shipping and processing delays much like most other consumer items.....probably due to a shortage of workers.

USPS revenues have been declining over the past couple of years, and this virus is adding to the problems. Those who wish the mail would stop might get their wish if this trend continues for much longer....there are already reports saying that the postal service may be in real trouble by the end of this year.

A man who was online behind me while we were waiting for the P.O. to open it's lobby doors (yes we were masked and socially distancing) said he has to come pick up his business's mail once a week. When he didn't get something the company was expecting he found out that mail is backed up waiting for sorting not only in the main P.O. where we were but in a larger sorting facility in another town that services that P.O. I don't know what to think will happen due to their dire situation. Maybe we'll only be able to expect deliveries once a week.

Oh, gee, I'd really miss those grocery store flyers and ads for cremation services and hearing aids. I'd also miss the catalogs for clothing I don't particularly want at the moment, cuz I've got nowhere to go. Haven't had a cruise brochure in a while, though. I wonder why?

Well then I wonder why she got the note?
As the article stated, she got the note from her mail carrier.

“A little two inch by two inch post-it note from my carrier was in there,” explained Bilbo. “That said they could no longer deliver my mail, because someone had tested positive for COVID-19 at this address.”

Anyone think to sanitize your mailbox? My condo is on the second floor so I talked with my neighbor and we agreed not to touch the hand rail going up & down.

Oh good grief. Somehow I am not afraid of my mailbox. And I don't "sanitize" packages or leave them outside in the sun for 2 days. I'm living on the edge.

All kinds of craziness comes to the surface when we get a situation like this.
