omg - paul hogan was a good one but he's retired now - I can't think of any that have national recognition and prestige - remember Dame Edna?? - most of ours don't travel well and just prefer to focus on the ozzie popn I think? I've just got off the phone from my son 200 kms away he would know more than I - if he rings back I'll ask him.

well Dame Edna was never off our TV.. she/he was always on all our talk shows... but he wasn't everybody's cup of tea as a comedian.. but I can't think of another Australian comedian.

The trouble is most of our comedians in the UK now have been hit with the woke culture stick.... and that makes them by and large unfunny...

Ricky Gervais is still very funny, because he's clever and he can make jokes and still deny he's being offensive by explaining what he's just said.....but really the woke culture has killed comedy as we knew it. The 2 Ronnies, absolutely fabulous are just 2 shows that couldn't be made today due to the woke culture

never did have a lot of patience for the show The Big Bang Theory but just watching the earlier shows recently I am beginning to appreciate the subtle humor that comes out pretty fast at times!!
