In memory of those who've just passed

Two of my favorite singers (for decades) died within the last few months. Broke my heart !

Frankie Beverly, lead singer of Maze. Silk Soul Singer is dedicated to Marvin Gaye, who propelled their career.

And Walter "Scotty" Scott of the Whispers. He's one of the twins.

Rest in Paradise Frankie and Scotty.

How strange...I just noticed that the Maze video posted twice, even though when I tried to edit, the link only appears once! Another singer who's music I really appreciate died in a car accident, that some find suspicious because she was challenging industry big wigs about the rights to her music. Rest in musical paradise Angie.

As we travel through our senior years, it seems that we take note with more interest when someone we know or know of passes away. It can be in our community or even in our range of persons we take note of in the news. During the Corona virus period we couldn't help but note the passing of persons with whom we were acquainted. In recent years I find that some of my favorite entertainment personalities in music and on screen have departed. This becomes even more apparent to me when I hear people speaking of personalities, apparently famous in their own way, that I have never heard of. Then I stop and think that my frame of reference goes back to the early 50's.

As the youngest of six children with my oldest sibling being nearly twenty years older than me it sometimes extends that range of personalities even more. My first rememberence of a news conference was when Truman would talk to reporters during a morning walk, and the first talk show I recall was with Arthur Godfrey. I might ad that both of those rememberances were from radio, because we didn't have a television yet. Guess it's all relative.
