I noticed how very good strawberries are tasting now so I figure they must be in season. I got 2 containers of them and they are so sweet and delicious!

I like to cut several them up and put them in Yogurt and also mix in some nuts--right now I'm mixing pecans in with them.

What Are You Doing With Those Strawberries?

We love nothing more than a Sunday morning feed of homemade pancakes or crepes with strawberries and whipping cream!

Also strawberries with breakfast cereal - including oatmeal, and then there's pies, tarts, and squares.

Just LOVE the combination of strawberry and rhubarb together!

I even love a bowl of sliced strawberries with a light sprinkle of granulated sugar and heavy cream poured over.

They're not only good, they're huge - especially the "Driscoll" brand.

Nothing better than new fresh strawberries.
On the farm, i had 3, 8ft squares of everbearing strawberries......once they started producing.....got 2 ice cream pails every day....the closer to early fall, got down to 1 pail.
Had to share with the birds......but still lots to go around.
Ruthanne ....Thanks for this thread.
Brought back memories and mouth watering yummies.

@Marie5656 years ago I had a huge bed of strawberries but they are labor intensive. I was always out there weeding them and clipping off runners to keep them in a straight line. All it took was a few days of humidity or rain and they got moldy. Many years we didn't get any.

I did freeze them. I washed them and drained them well then spread them out on a cookie sheet lined with wax or parchment paper and put them in the freezer. When frozen solid I would bag them up. That way you can reach in and take any amount you want. They taste good but the texture is not like fresh they get mushy. Best used in a dessert dish with cream or other mixed fruit, on pancakes and they are pretty good frozen right from the freezer. More than once I caught my kids stealing them out of the freezer.
