In the age before Sesame Street, who was your childhood TV teacher?

Ding Dong school with Miss Frances was my favorite. I remember one show in particular where she washed dolls clothes in a bowl and hung them up on a little line. I was fascinated. What ever made producers think kids need a big noisy, busy set and a lot of fast paced action?

Captain Kangaroo I suppose, I was a strange kid I loved the national news we only had the big three but I really liked Uncle Walter and whoever the anchor was on ABC at the time. My Grandmother's tv reception wasn't very good back then and the NBC channel had a weak signal that didn't come in very well.

I also grew up in a home where great focus was on news. Always watched, always discussed.
