In the USA about 12 percent of Police officers are women. In Canada it's 23 percent.

The specific details of legal sausage-making after an arrest are unknown to me.

What I do know, and every legal website I've looked at this morning confirms this, is that any California peace officer from any jurisdiction can enforce laws, including making arrests, anywhere within California.

CHP's primary task may be the safe flow of traffic on freeways and highways, but they are legally empowered to handle whatever infractions they come across, state wide. And vice versa with local police.
You're exactly right. In fact, any officer from any department can perform law enforcement duties while they are off-duty.

The sausage part is that, whether it's a DUI first-offense or a major criminal case, to satisfy the courts, the department that has legal jurisdiction takes possession of it. And all officers from all departments are fine with that. It ensures justice is served.

Private and public. My “favorite “ is Hatzalah. Aren’t you connected with them? Jewish volunteer organization that takes the patient of any religion or none to the hospital of one s choice. Like Senior Care very much. Was in FDNY during snow storm

Helpful strong caring and competent
If the bus was red it was from FDNY-EMS Greenich station 7. The buses are bls only or als only. Sex of the team doesnt matter just their certification. If the bus was white it would be Hatzalah Lower East Side and the wonderful thing is NYPD clears the street for them from the call to the hospital.Hatzalah now provides full coverage on Manhattan from Battery Park City to The Cloisters.

Actually this is a video compilation of the controversy of City Hall allowing Hatzolah EMS personally outfitting and using their own vehicles to respond to and treat patients until the ambulance arrives to save lives. Sad thing to sit on your butt yet complain about people who jump out of their beds at 3 AM to save a sick childs life.

FDNY-EMS bus responding to call

Hospital based bus responding to a call

Did you hear about the battle between Ezras Nashim and it's leader Shavy Landau and Hatzalah and Remsco? Female modesty vs. saving the life of a dying AkeretHabayit was the call of shame by the leadership of New York City Hatzalah leadership. Seemed she had no real world solution for her all femele ambulances responding to a serious emergency of a sick or seriously injured male.

I usually don't create long protracted post but former FDNY-EMS Chief of EMS now Commisionr of FDNY proposed a citywide proposal to end wastefull duplication of responses requiring a bls and/or an als response to the same call

Secondly how to give proper yet sexual abuse free treatment to sick or injured females having to fear sexual assault by the lone male emt or paramedic in the back of the bus with her which occurs more often then pre hospital administrators, mediators and risk mananagement personnel care to admit.

When FDNY-EMS chief Lillian Bonsignore submitted a 3 fold proposal to acting FDNY Commissioner Tucker to scrap the proposal to outfit every bus with cameras just kill three birds with three stones. Train all existing emt's to paramedics so every bus has 4 medics that can handle any and every call all without response duplication and the third and most critical decision is to have one male and one femal paramedic treating the patient in the rear compartment. May not stop accusations but it's better than nothing.

I see you driving the second bus. How about waving next time or at least let me jump in and play with light and siren.

Take care and feel better.

Great read! Want to read again! Chock Full of interesting information. Am using Senior Care Rides this morning to see surgeon. Will use wheelchair I think.

I really feel you care about me. Thank you.

About 3 1/2 Pennsylvanias would fit in Calif, and we've got over 400 state highways, 25 interstate highways, and more freeways than I can count (at the moment). So busting them up into regions makes sense, right? And, I'm just speculating, but I'd wager that when a Californian decides to go into law enforcement, CHP isn't their first choice.

That's awesome...from a cop's perspective. (but mine, too)

I was accepted to the police academy in Phoenix, AZ just before I wrecked my spine and a couple of vital organs in a terrible fall. I took a header off a rocky ridge near the coast, and landed about 60ft below its crest.

I like to watch videos about complex police pursuits and expertly performed PIT maneuvers just for the entertainment value. That adrenaline rush is contagious.
I don’t think the CHP would have been my first choice in LE in California.

I'm not looking to step on anybody's toes here or be accused attempting to hijack this thread because it addresses law inforcement issues and this part of the existing thread is about the long standing FDNY female probationary scandal, the FDNY back door favorisirism issue, the FDNY-EMS covid shakeup and the first openiy gay FDNY chief of the EMS division now promoted to the position of Commissioner of FDNY so I'll remove what I posted with an apology.

However if permission is granted I will continue so I would like start a discussion abount Molly Williams the very first Black female firefighter who was born a slave in New York City. In 1818 she became a firefighter for FDNY Oceanous 11 fire station.

Little known shameful FDNY secret. Former FDNY Commisioner Laura Kavanaugh never had any formal or informal fire service training. A number of eligible males in the command staff said she couldn't extinguish a match fire with a garbage can full of water. At least former NYPD commisioner Sewel had several years of law enforcement experience.

Had a retired firefighter reveal some destructive things historically done to black and eventually to female firefighters vehicles left at the firehoue while they were on calls.

1. slashed tires
2. any thick liquid in the gas tank
3. dirt, rags and rocks stuffed into the exhust pipes
4. all the windows smashed leading to total destruction of the inside
5. removing the license plates
6. smashing all the lights
7. unscrewing the oil and transmission caps
8. poping the trunks and hoods and the cars ware done.

After a bit the unwitting subjects used public transportation to work.

When the word got out about NYPD division and FDNY marshals were afoot rampant vandalism by unknown parties went elswhere.

Like cops, firefighters, ambulannce drivers, nurses, doctors and tow truck drivers racism and sexism will always haunt humanity.
