In your opinion, when does life begin? Is it at conception, first breath, first discernible

The question is why are you asking when life begins?

CORRECTION. My question was WHEN DO YOU THINK life begins. I was curious as to the thoughts of the other intelligent, friendly, curious participants about the issue. I was not looking for a scientific discourse nor was I calling for a debate and I certainly was not looking for provable response.

Theoretically, there could be many different scientific interpretations of the question and it's answer but most of us have formed our own opinions. I was curious as to those of a peer group. Nothing more. If the question offends you, please ignore it and move on.

I find myself ambivalent about the subject. I'm not sure the question even entered my mind when I was having my own children but in recent years I had come to believe that it was at first breath. However, after feeling my great-grandchild kick so vigorously in my expectant granddaughter's belly, I question my previous theory. Life in some form has definitely begun.

"Theoretically, there could be many different scientific interpretations of the question." That is the reason for "why". If you are asking how much this weighs, the answer will be different if expressed in pounds or kilograms. If you are asking in theological terms, the answer would be different than purely scientific terms. It also depends on your theology. Someone, who believes in reincarnation may have a different definition of "when like begins". The reason I gave that answer is it's complicated.
I believe you answered the reasons of why you were asking. I agree if something is kicking, it's alive. But when you start asking about viability,etc.,etc., it comes down to why you are asking.
