I think I'm in Florida, but I'm not sure any more.
Anybody watch this show? I was clicking through the channels tonight and came across the show. BAM! It was about a series of events that greatly affected my life back in the middle 1970's

This episode was about the Oakland County Child Killer, a person who abducted and killed at least four children in Michigan. The first boy that was abducted and killed was my back-fence neighbor. I did not know the family except to wave to over the fence when out in the back yard and exchange a word or two with the mother.

I remember the police canvassing the neighborhood and coming into our house to ask questions. After that, I wouldn't let my daughter walk to school with a bunch of her friends or play in the yard unless I was out there.

I hadn't thought about this for years but it sure preyed on my mind at the time.
 

Dang t's. My laptop is on the fritz and I haven't had a chance to take it in. When I type a "t", I either can't get one at all or I getttt lottttttts of ttttttt's. Same thing with y's. I also can't get a capital t or y unless I type a small one first. Crazy, huh?

Then, I have to go back and get rid of all the extra t's and y's. Driving me insane, it is......
 
Actually, Investigation Discovery is a channel. ;) Which show were you watching? I admit to being a true crime junkie. :cool:

ETA--I looked at the program guide; it appears the show is Children of the Snow.
 

Yes, I watch it quite a bit. Probably too much. (I have even been on twice that I know, but just by newsreel videos.) I did miss the episode that you are referring to.
 
JJ....I had to check out the show that you are referring to. That show has several episodes and from what I can gather, it takes place in at least three different cities. It sounds really good, so I may check it out since it’s On Demand by my cable provider and I can watch it whenever the time suits me.
 
Haven't watched that one, but I'm currently watching a fascinating documentary on Netflix, "Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes." What a monster he was - handsome, charming, likeable, etc., except that he had one "little" flaw: he was compelled to brutally assault and murder one attractive college student after another.

The documentary is a series, with several episodes; they probably could have made it shorter. But very watchable anyway.

I have that in my list to watch on Netflix and I’ve heard it’s good but I just couldn’t get too excited about it yet....I know a lot about Ted Bundy just from reading over the years.

Is it still interesting, Sunny...even if you know the story?
 
Yes, I think so, although as I said, it was dragged out a little too long, with a lot of filler material. Example: every time they referred to Seattle (where he committed his first murders), they showed the same aerial shots of
the city. Good grief, we know what Seattle looks like, get on with the story already!

What I found fascinating was how likeable he was. I found myself wanting to believe him every time he said he was completely innocent of all charges, even though I knew otherwise! Shows you how skillful these
psycopaths can be.

I saw the documentary and I enjoyed it, though I knew most of the details of his grisly murders. I remember years ago reading The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule. She is an author of true crime novels, and she knew Ted Bundy personally both before and after his arrest.

I probably read that book. I was a huge fan of Ann Rule and true crime books in general.

I've read some of Ann Rule's books,she was a talented writer
Sadly,she died in 2015,don't know who has taken over writing the books Sue
