Invitation for you folks to visit my media section to view photos

Great photos Mat... (y) you were in the army for a long time by the looks of it Thabk you for your service...how long was it ?
5 years total, 1st year was with the 101st at Fort Campbell . Then at Alvarado Tx for 14 months in DallasFortWorth Air Defense Nike Hercules, from there onto Vietnam for 3 years. First year was with the 336th assault helicopter and the 1st Avn Bde, after my first 13 months moved up the runway to our sister company and spent 2 years with the 121st assault helicopter and then home after 2 extent-ions with the 121st.

Glad I left at that time because the air field was turned over to the Vietnamese Air Force shortly after I left. All the helicopters were handed over except for the gunships and they all went North due to an oncoming total stand down that was still secret at that time. All the personnel were dispersed mostly up north. Things worked out well for me

It was nice you took the time to share the people and pieces of your past with us. I enjoyed seeing them.
Glad you enjoyed looking at them. Here is my Flickr stream that has my 67 Nike Base as it looks today. The magazine in the photos is the one I worked, the first on the entrance to the launch site. Also on the steam are a lot but not all of my personal Tributes to people I flew with and many many I never met. I Think there were over two hundred while I was on facebook. My eyes are bad now and I haven't made any for over two years.

I left facebook 3 years ago. Most of us are already gone now and the group gets smaller but I feel good I did get a lot out to people before they passed on.

Most of those photos were very clear. It must have seemed like a long time ago, yet maybe not. When we look back over the years, sometimes it feels like the big events of life happened only yesterday.

I know your tribute pages were meaningful to them -and to their families. And I appreciate what you’ve done for our country.

I flew on the 190th Assault Helicopter Company ("Spartans") whenever we were dispatched to the jungle.
(199th light infantry B-2-3)
Also had fire support, armed reconnaissance, and medical evacuations from the 129th Assault Helicopter Company.
You are right about that roll call getting shorter every year. So much so that I included that line in the song I recently wrote. :(

Well, the roll call’s get shorter,
with every passing year.
Another flag that folds at sunrise,
Another empty glass of beer.
I heard about this honor flight,
but I have to wonder why.
who goes to stand there in the brush,
where you watched your buddy die.
