TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iranian state television announced Saturday that the government had freed four dual-nationality prisoners, and a person close to Iran's judiciary confirmed to The Associated Press that Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian was one of them.

The report did not identify the prisoners and the person in Iran was speaking on condition of anonymity since he was not authorized to publicly speak to the media. Rezaian is a dual Iran-U.S. citizen who was convicted of espionage in a closed-door trial in 2015.

That's great news, just heard there may be five, a student included in the release.

We paid Iran a lot of money to let our men go - The whole story sounds fishy to me - like maybe a plan for the U.S. to give Iran a lot of money with a good excuse and to make Iran look good to ....... Who knows. Anyway, Iran got a couple billion dollars from us over it.

No, we did not pay Iran a lot of money....that money was Iran's money that was frozen at the time of sanctions.
 
I was an Obama supporter for a year before he even announced that he will run for president. I had a homemade bumper sticker on my car with his name on it (Obama for President) and people would ask me "Who is Obama?" The republicans told soooooo many lies about Obama that I will now NEVER EVER EVER EVER vote for ANY republican NEVER EVER. Obama has worked harder than any President during my life time. He could have done much more if the !*&^#(_#$%^! republicans would not have fought him on absolutely everything he wanted to do.

Far too much has been done by just doing it and not going through the Congress as it should be done. Even his Obama care was done outside the Congress as all the Congress put together was title pages and brief comment, the actual design was done outside the Congress after Congress already voted to pass the bill. It was a jam job and now Hillary has promised to go into it and correct some areas and fix things in general. If she wins I hope she does fix something as we are just spending like crazy and it is definitely spent under democrat control as it was the Democrats in charge of the Congress Senate till last year. The House presents bills and the Senate is then in charge and if they leave the bills in the 'to be considered' pile, they never do get considered.

I'm not sure why the Right keeps saying we gave Iran BILLIONS.... WE didn't give them a dime.. It was THEIR money to begin with.... But I guess that doesn't make our President look bad or stupid enough to please the Right.
 
Apparently according to the Republicans, President Obama can do nothing right. With politics aside, I can only imagine the joy and relief of these men and their families. And that alone counts for something.
 
Obama will not up there with the greatest, but probably in the range of Truman and Clinton...
 
I understand one of the prisoners released opted to stay in Iran.

As for the 7 Iranians the US released in exchange.. NONE... were guilty of terrorism.. but were guilty of exporting sanction goods.. and some money laundering schemes.

So before anyone listens to the chorus of GOP candidates berating the swap.... lets be clear.. we did NOT release terrorists.. Just as we did not PAY Iran billions of dollars.. but released THEIR money that had been frozen.. So please don't listen to the BS coming out of the Right.
