Iran Waves White Flag

Of all the things I hear that result in skepticism, hearing that Iran wants to "white flag" in *any* way would be at the top of that list. Wouldn't Iran's track record suggest that this would be a way to stop the current bombing long enough for them to regroup?

I don't think that's true... 4 minutes ago report on the BBC

We've received a statement just now from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) about earlier reports that dozens of Palestinians were killed and injured at an aid distribution point in Gaza.

The IDF says a "gathering was identified adjacent to an aid distribution truck that got stuck" in Khan Younis, and in proximity to IDF troops operating in the area.

"The IDF is aware of reports regarding a number of injured individuals from IDF fire following the crowd’s approach. The details of the incident are under review," it says.

It adds that it "regrets any harm to uninvolved individuals and operates to minimize harm as much as possible to them while maintaining the safety of our troops".

Iran has been "years away" from developing nuclear weapons since the early 1990's according to Netanyahu.

There has been a constant, and obvious, propaganda war against Iran for decades. This is (yet another) Iraq moment - with the "weapons of mass destruction" claim.

There are plenty of reasons to not like Iran and its government from a western perspective, but their developing nuclear weapons is not, and was not, one of them. It's a false flag war.

Since 1979, Iran has said "Death to America & Death to Israel". They have been at war with us for years. Some have realized that from the beginning while others over time may have forgot those threats. Then you have some that appear to be in denial for whatever reason.

If someone who is evil/crazy/ideologue/etc. (take your pick) says they are going to do something bad to you, you had better listen to them. Sooner or later they are going to act on those threats.

Iran has lied & used stalling tactics for years so they can further their agenda. One of those is obtaining the nuke. They have also killed people for speaking out against the regime. They deny their own people basic human rights. Why do you think they wouldn't do the same to you?

Do you really want to wake up one morning & hear the news they dropped the bomb on another nation?

The U.N. found Iran wasn't in compliance with their obligation which was talked about last week.

Exactly! Iran has reached 60% purity with their uranium enrichment. Weapons grade is 90%... they were getting close. Any person or nation who thinks it's not an extreme danger/crisis needs to research and educate themselves before it's suddenly too late.

I just heard on the news that Iran has one more nuclear facility buried deep in a mountain that can only be bombed with a bunker-buster bomb delivered by a B-52 bomber and Israel doesn't have either, but the U.S. has both. The same newscast said the U.S. military has moved an aircraft carrier into the Gulf of Oman next to Iran. Any more news on this?

It looks to me like WW 3 is right over the horizon. Russia, the USA and China seem ready to go for broke. It's easy to start world wars but is very hard to end them. Millions may die again in WW 3 and and that war could take a decade to finally end. It's even possible that a China/Russia force could invade the USA and many US cities could disappear from nukes and satellite borne lasers. The human species is again showing how they differ from all other species. We are the only species who likes to slaughter its own members.

The Nimitz is on the way to the region. but it does not carry the capability to destroy Fordow. I would have been wrong about that one if asked earlier today. Not sure what it would take from U.S. to make it happen.

I wonder if the Nimitz is carrying the B-2 Stealth Bomber?
The following is from the National Security Journal:

"While Israel's recent air strikes have damaged Iranian nuclear sites like Natanz, its deeply buried Fordow enrichment facility remains a significant challenge that may require a unique US weapon to destroy. The 30,000-pound GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), or "bunker buster," is designed for such targets but can only be delivered by a US Air Force B-2 stealth bomber."

The B2 isn't stationed on carriers... it's not designed for that... they're based on land.
There are 2-3 at Diego Garcia, an island south of India -ish. More in Guam, I believe.
They can fly around 5-6000 miles and also refuel in flight.
Hope that helps!

For months now, this is no longer a war, but basically a slaughter. Mostly women and children are trapped in an area from where there’s no escape and when they show up to get aid they are killed.

People are starving to death in Gaza. The pictures on the news are horrifying. While Israel had a reason initially to retaliate for what happened to them this has gone Far beyond what any decent society would do.

I think we all have our feelings about what's right and wrong in this situation...

I'm not posting my own thoughts..merely pasting the latest updates from the media

Israel, officially the State of Israel, is a country in West Asia. It shares borders with Lebanon to the north, Syria to the north-east, Jordan to the east, Egypt to the south-west and the Mediterranean Sea to the west. google today.

Historically it believes it has every right to be where it is - it is after all the Promised Land. However it is almost completely surrounded by Arabic nations - who historically/biblically are their
" brothers" through Abrahamic birth right?

I used to hang around with my direct cousins once - now we can't be bothered to talk to each other? Seems to be a sorta human nature heh - and no matter how much the preacher man tells us to do it different and the good book Bible also we turn away and do it our way - cos we think we know better.

Biblically/historically the Jews are entitle to some land in that region and it's not very big compared to some others! Now I certainly agree they are imo dealing with this incursion with a very heavy hand which is unnecessary'

. And fortunately they seem to have some strong allies to help out from far off shores!! Let's hope everyone just maybe sees a bit of sense and backs off putting their guns back in the holsters and taking a cold shower??
