Irritability, can't keep still, anxious - thyroid

Well, a few times I thought I would talk to my doctor re: the above. But I thought heck, the doctor is busy and these symptoms are not interfering with my life too much. Jump forward a year and my doc said time for blood tests. Well, I always had hypothyroidism and took synthroid for it. However, my blood test came back and I'm leaning towards hyperthyroidism. So I just asked my doc, would that affect my mood, feeling like I have to move all the time, anxiety, etc. He said definitely yes. So he has adjusted my thyroid meds and is having me go for lab tests every 3 months or so.

My point is if you are having mood swings, do talk it over with your doc, it might be your thyroid or even some other physical ailment causing it.

I had hyperthyroidism in my twenties. Oh, it definitely affected my mood! And my weight. I weighed about 90 lbs.despite eating everything in sight.
A doctor noticed the goiter and bulging eyes at an appt for something else.
I was on something (PT???) for a year and it straightened out.

Yes good advice! With the thyroid medicine, I have had relatives having to take it. I noticed irritability was one of the symptoms of a high dose.
