Is anyone else receiving these types of texts?

Well, first off I'm sorry I ever donated to a specific political party before the election because at least once a day I receive a text begging for money. I just Junk and Delete these days.

But what's been really curious lately is that I receive cryptic texts along the lines of "Do you want to meet at the park?" or "How do you like living in Dallas?". They are not explicit but they are personal. Hubby confirmed that he's been receiving these types of texts as well. They aren't as frequent as the political texts but they are annoying.

Anyone else?

I have received open ended texts before, years ago I would text "wrong number". Today block block block. Both political parties texted a lot last election cycle. Block block block. Personal data can be easily found on the internet these days unless you do some extra work to be mostly invisible.

I don't do anything with money or credit cards on my smartphone, only my home desktop computer.

So, I only occasionally get a spam text, and I immediately delete. If I got any that asked personal questions like that, I would block that number for sure.

I haven't received any spam emails asking for political money either, I think shortly after I donated to a party I received one email that said I could unsubscribe from any other communications, I did, no issue at all since. Hope you can stop these texts, does not sound good at all, good luck.

When you pay for purchases by card, phone or any device other than cash, you get profiled. The profiles are bought and sold until there is a mass of information about you. Someone, somewhere has learned of your cell phone number. It will end when you change your number, go ex-directory (meaning nobody has access to your phone number,) and pay for all future purchases in cash.

Thank you. Yes, I've read that even World Central Kitchen to whom I've donated many times gives away information. Very disappointing.

I don't think I have ever received texts from anyone I don't know except Emergency services ones.

Oh and those ones from Google, "is it really you?"

I have learned never to give my phone number to charities for example.
