Is Autumn Your Favorite Time of Year? If so, Why?

So many important things in my life happened in the Fall. So it has to be my favorite. :)
Along with the cooling down, and holidays coming up ... have several special birthdays & anniv.... and it's also when I met my husband ... and that was at a football game .... so another reason to love Fall ... football. 🏈 ....

Good stuff has happened in the fall for you. For me, too! I like that poem to btw.

Fall is certainly my favorite season. The temperatures become mild, and there aren't the heavy Spring rains, and the leaves changing color make our forest really beautiful. About the only downside is the raking, blowing and mulching of all these leaves in the yard, but I kind of like that kind of work. Additionally, the ticks and chiggers usually die off or hibernate after mid to late September, so I can go out into the woods without getting eaten alive by the bugs.

I can imagine the forest you speak of. Must be a gorgeous place!

I am looking forward to autumn right now because this godawful heat will go away and I can actually enjoy going out in the daytime again. I am really sick of being roasted to death in my car when I run errands because the AC doesn't do any good until I am almost wherever I am going, and then the same when I get back into the car. I'm also tired of not being able to do much of anything outside during the majority of the day because it is so hot it is intolerable.

That's what I get for living in the desert.

Yes, our place is really nice....40 acres of heavy forest. We have great neighbors...the nearest is about a football field away, and deers and turkeys, etc., regularly roaming through the yard. Moving here was our Health Care Plan, as we have never ending outdoor chores which keeps us fit and healthy..so far. Right now, our view from the porches look like we're in the middle of a jungle, but in another month all this greenery will be various shades of yellow and gold....I'll try to remember to take a couple of pictures and post them.

We don't do fall and not much winter here in Houston. We do have some relief in October, no triple digits, thank God. We have a touch of winter in February, then straight into summer we go. Spring and fall barely get a second glance. When I win the lottery, I will have a place in the east to enjoy fall. Of course you have to play to win and I am too cheap to buy a ticket, so there is that!

It takes a bit of juggling to tell you why i love autumn. Instead of winter being the last season, it's the first. It's cold and white. Then spring is green. And summer is blue, for the clear warm days with sleepy white clouds in a huge blue sky. But autumn is the closing act. It's the vibrant colors of a magnificent stage production.

Joining in sympathy with the others who still have extreme heat when much of the northern hemisphere is heading into fall. And this year is particularly bad. Normally we have a few cooler days foretaste of fall by now, but not this year.

Direct from Accuweather's fall forcast for the US referring to the Southeast.
Come the middle of fall, the region is likely to experience a cooldown, signaling an end to the summery weather.

😓 That'll do as a sweat smiley!
